butternut squash cinnamon cookies for our canine friends

What a great Fall treat to share with your pups. This recipe makes 60 cookies. In my house they don’t last long!

butternut squash dog treats

2 cups brown rice flour

2 cups rolled oats

1 can pureed butternut squash

2/3 cup coconut oil, melted

4 tbsp ground flax

1 tbsp cinnamon

Pinch of salt

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

  • Add the flour, oats, flax, cinnamon and salt to a large bowl and mix well
  • Add the butternut squash and melted coconut oil and mix everything together until well incorporated (I used my hands to mix it well)
  • Using a tablespoon, scoop out the dough and roll it into balls
  • Place the balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a Silpat mat. You can place them close together as they don’t spread
  • With the back of a fork, squish down each cookie
  • Bake for 30 minutes
  • Makes 5 dozen cookies

Once cool, store in an airtight container or zipper bag.
