Anyone who knows me, knows that I love coconut oil.
I use it for everything. For cooking, baking, instead of butter on bread, in smoothies, in soups and stews, as a skin cream, lip balm, to soothe my stomach if I have a tummy ache, as an ointment when I have any skin irritation or area that needs healing and as bribe and treat for my dogs.
i joke with my friends that I should be a sales rep for the stuff. I believe in it that much.
While so many people use skin creams and ointments with loads of chemicals such as fragrances, colours, etc; give me my coconut oil any time.
My naturopath once recommended that I use Vaseline to heal a scar that I had after surgery on my foot. Nope, I said, I’ll stick to my coconut oil. I checked the website for Vaseline and there is a list of 44 ingredients. Coconut oil. One ingredient, plus I can eat it. I don’t think I’d eat Vaseline. And, as skin is our largest organ, I’d rather slather it with something I can eat instead of something with that many ingredients.
