some kids like to get their hands dirty, some don’t!…planting seeds with kids

Last Sunday, June 19th, I was lucky enough to spend time planting seeds with kids. It was an opportunity for them to learn about where our food comes from, why seed saving is important and to plant a seed to give to Dad as a Father’s Day gift.
The seeds were donated by Cubit’s Organics rare, heirloom and organic seeds (thanks Laura!). Cubit’s supplied us with rainbow of  radishes, baby leaf lettuce mix, large leaf Italian basil, dill, moss-curled parsley, and rainbow Swiss chard seeds, as well as Tennessee Cutshort beans, bird egg beans and Petaluma gold rush beans.

I’ve added a few photos of the kids who participated…aren’t their sweet little faces adorable!
