Working out in the summer heat is difficult, even if you’re as lucky as I am and your fitness class is on the beach.
This easy to make, all natural, super-charged drink gave me just the right amount of energy to fly through my class and feel energized for the walk home along the boardwalk.
Here’s what you need:
1 carrot
1 stalk of celery
a handful of parsley
1 small beet
1/4 of a red pepper
1/2 a tomato
1 small apple
1 tbsp. protein powder of your choice (the one I use is a dairy and gluten free, rice protein)
Place everything in the blender, add 1/2 – 1 cup of water and blend until smooth.
I do mine in a food processor but you can you use a blender or juicer as well.
I like the food processor because you get all the fiber as a bonus.
This drink is chock full of good stuff like vitamins A, C and K, potassium, folate, antioxidant nutrients and phytonutrients such as beta carotene and lutein, and fiber of course!
Oh and here’s a picture of my ‘gym’. Great view, don’t you think!
