What a great day we had on Sunday making bean dip with the kids at the market!
A few simple ingredients turned into plenty of laughter, good fun and even some delicious bean dip. The kids were so into it, smashing the beans in the bag.
Who knew that just a few simple, whole food ingredients could turn into such an adventure!
Here’s how we did it:
we used small plastic zipper bags so the kids could customize their dip
to the bags we added:
- chick peas
- roasted garlic (just cut the top off of your garlic bulb, drizzle some olive oil on top, place on a piece of parchment paper, seal it up tight and place on a baking sheet in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes)
- olive oil
- in went some herbs and other ingredients (I’ve listed them below), we sealed up the zipper bags, and the smashing began. There were some great sound effects and karate chops as the kids smashed all the beans until no beans were visible
- the bean dip was spooned onto a chard leaf and rolled up or sliced veggies were dipped right into the bag
